Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples

Indigenous representatives celebrate the adoption of the Declaration Les Malezer and Victoria Tauli-Corpuz at the General Assembly 

A High-level commemoration of the fifth anniversary of the adoption of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples was held on 17 May 2012. Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples
High-level commemoration of the fifth anniversary of the adoption of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples was held on 17 May 2012. Click here to download the text of the resolution (A/RES/66/142) adopted by the General Assembly.

On September 13, 2007, the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples was adopted by the General Assembly. This decision comes as a result of more than twenty years of work by indigenous peoples and the United Nations system.
